Every evening when I get home from work, after the stresses of the day, I have a ritual. I take off my shoes, light up a scented candle, sit down in my favourite chair and then breathe in deeply. It’s that moment, as I take that healing breath that I feel I can finally switch off from the day, quieten all the thoughts that have been running through my head and just be present in the moment.
When you take a moment like this in the glow of a flickering flame, something quite amazing happens. By taking in the soothing scent of a nature-infused candle, you can begin to simply enjoy the moment. I find that lighting a scented candle and focusing on it’s gentle fragrance in this way is one of the most powerful ways for me to slow down and transition into a more connected evening.
