FAQ
What are scented soy candles?
Scented soy candles are candles made from natural soy wax blended with essential oils and fragrance oils. They burn cleanly, hold scent beautifully, and create a cosy, calming atmosphere in your home
Are soy candles better than paraffin candles?
Soy candles are plant‑based, biodegradable, and burn cleaner than paraffin. They produce less soot, last longer, and offer a more natural, gentle fragrance experience.
How long do soy candles burn?
Our gift set soy candles burn for around 15 hours, depending on size and wick care. Soy wax melts slower than paraffin, giving you a longer‑lasting candle.
How do I make my soy candle burn evenly?
Let the candle melt to the edges on the first burn (usually 2–4 hours). Trim the wick to 5mm before each use to prevent tunnelling and keep the flame steady.
Why choose Alight Candle Company’s soy candles?
Our candles are hand‑poured in Nottingham using natural soy wax, vegan friendly essential oils and fragrance oils, cotton wicks, and plastic‑free packaging. Each scent is crafted to support mood, wellbeing, and everyday calm.
Do soy candles produce soot?
Soy candles do not produce soot when burned correctly. Keeping the wick trimmed and avoiding drafts helps maintain a clean, even burn.
How strong is the scent throw of soy candles?
Our soy candles offer a strong and consistent scent throw. They’re perfect for bedrooms, living rooms, and cosy spaces where you want fragrance without being overwhelmed.
Are soy candles eco‑friendly?
Yes - soy wax is renewable, biodegradable, and sustainably sourced. Our candles are also packaged plastic‑free, making them a more eco‑conscious choice for home fragrance.
